Hello TAF members! After years of lurking(probably since 07-08), I’ve decided to finally apply for membership. I guess I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Arvin and I currently live in Pomona CA but I’ve lived in many places due to being a military brat. I work as an Electrical Engineer for a small Engineering firm. It can be boring but it pays the bills(and for all my expensive hobbies). From time to time, I also help out at a local sneaker consignment store.

Like many, my obsession with sneakers started with Jordans(for me it was 1989 when I first saw the Jordan IV). I didn’t get into AMs/runners till 1994 when I bought my first pair of Nike running shoes, the Air Structure Triax ‘94s. I bought them to bboy in because I wanted to be different from all the other guys in my crew who were rocking pumas and adidas. Because I was only allowed one or two pairs of sneakers a year growing up, I did not really get into AMs back then. It wasn’t until around 2002 that I started really buying and following AMs. 2002 was also the year I just plain went stupid crazy with sneakers, especially Nike. It got pretty ridiculous. In 2006, I took a break from the whole thing and started slowly selling off most of my collection. However, I could never really let go of my AM collection which I found the most difficult to let go. I started buying sneakers again in 09 but this time I keep it mostly to AMs and other runners/trainers(with a few older J’s here and there) which is what I normally wear now due to the classic styling and comfort.

As you can see from my collection, my favorite of all the Air Max models is the AM90 with the Infrareds and Escape IIs probably my two most favorite. I’m still on the hunt for another pair of that Air Structure Triax ’94 that first got me into AMs but they still elude me. As far as numbers or ultra rareness, I would say my collection is fairly average. This is the main reason I never thought to apply for membership before and why I lurked for so many years. I never thought I really had anything to contribute. But I’ve realized in the past year that it’s really not the shoes themselves that make Team AM Fam but the common bond and appreciation that these sneakers bring. TAF members have also been some of the most helpful people I’ve dealt with on NT even to a non-member like myself. Plus, I’ve always been a fan of the photography of many of the TAF members. Where to start...

Little bit about me... My name is Rich, I'm 28 years old and I live in Brisbane, Australia. My family and I moved here from Northern Ireland when I was about 7 and have lived here ever since. I work as a Spray painter, Mainly fixing up cars that have been damaged in an accident but sometimes we get to do race/show cars aswell. Not a very air max friendly job but it does help pay for them...

I've always been a sneaker fan, would generally buy 4-5 pairs a year which at the time I thought was fairly excessive, Nothing really special, just stuff I’d see in footlocker that would grab my eye. As a kid I’d always wanted some Jordan’s or air max but my parents refused. Jordan's were a definite no no due to the price and every time I’d ask for air max mum would say no because she was afraid the bubbles would burst lol...

I ended up buying my first pair of air max when i was about 11 or 12 with some money i got for christmas...Have no idea what they were but they defiantely had bubbles :) Basically I’d say I 'officially' started collecting sneakers in 2008. I was fairly into Adidas for a while before that... once again nothing special just random models. I eventually bought a pair of AM's for nostalgia reason's I guess and it's just spiralled from there...

At the moment I have around 60 pairs in my air max collection .Obviously 87's are my favourite. Nothing compared to a lot of your collections but it's growing on a weekly basis. There's so many pairs that I need to get but not enough pay cheques unfortunately. I have a lot of other shoes that I need to sell. Purely because I need the room And they aren't really seeing much wear these day's anyway...

Well I guess that's pretty much it. I hope I didn't bore you too much. So if you guys don't mind having another Aussie in the FAM I’d love to join...

My love for air maxes started in late 2005. I had been into sneakers for some time but wasn’t collecting air maxes. Then I noticed one of my friends would wear his HOA infrareds all the time. At that point I started to research various air max models and Colorways. Not until late 2006 did I start purchasing them but at a slow pace. Although my collection is relatively small, I must admit now I am ADDICTED to collecting Air Maxes. My favorite Air max is AM1 Urawa. I grew up with alot of foot problems as a kid and i was always shopping for comfortable shoes. As i got older i found my self loving am 90s and am 87/1 because of the mesh toe box that gave my feet alot more room for comfort. Even tho im also a giant air Jordan head I found air maxes alot easier to wear especially when it came to walking around and hours at the gym. At the end i found myself wearing am 87/1 alot. Its my favorite shoe just about to wear anywhere. Also while working in health care i found that ams are alot easier to stand around all day while seeing patients as of right now my air max 2010s is my current work shoe. well here are pics of my collection hope you guys enjoy!!

FOR THE LOVE OF AIR..... 1st off let me say thanks to all the people who gave me a hand throughout the years. I have always been in and out the AM thread. Throughout the years I noticed something, the thread has stayed loyal. Best thread on the web.

My love for the Air Max has always been there. I just never really got into it till i was in high school. Never really bought AMs till then. As a young dude, I liked them just never thought they looked cool on my feet. It took me a few years to mature up and wear a running shoe for casual wear. Ever since then, I been rocking them hard. My got to AM would have to be the 87. I love that shoe.... Wish I started collected AMs back when I stated collecting shoes as a whole. There is so much out there I wish i can get my hands on. Hopefully one day my hunt for all the AMs I want will end. I know I dont have much like most yall in here but its still a work in progress. Thank you guys for always allowing me to drop in. My love for AM started when I got my first pair of 90s (all black) for work. After seeing how comfortable they were (server job - on my feet all day), I started buying more and more, and now the majority of my new purchases are for air maxes. I love the classic designs of the 1, 90, and 95, among others. The quality (of older am's) is amazing, and I love the colorways and collaborations. AM's are more of an everyday shoe for me, which adds to their appeal. The only NT thread I actually frequent these days is the TAF thread; I love seeing others who have as much appreciation for the AM brand as I do - pickups, wears, info on new stuff, and just general discussion in there is always good. Favorites of mine include the Atmos Safari AM1 (still on the hunt), Neon AM95, and Infrared Structure Triax 91 (still need the blue toes).

Team AM Fam is nothing but a great group of guys who share a common passion for dope kicks. The comradery and positive vibe within the AM Fam thread has helped it become the largest, and by far most successful thread within the NikeTalk community.

I think it’s time for me to apply for membership to the one and only Team Air Max Family. As most of you know, the name’s Jason, 24 from Hartford, CT. I just recently finished up with my BA in Business Management (6 year plan), and I’m currently employed at a local beer distributor.

I’ve been interested in sneakers since I was able to tie my shoes it feels like. My Grandmother would buy me a new pair of sneakers before every new school year. This felt like Christmas for me. The first pair of sneakers that I actually cared about was the Air Max Plus. I think I was around 13 when my parents found out that I had a sneaker problem. There was this pair of blue Air Max Plus in my Eastbay catalog that I was absolutely in love with. One night I racked up a massive long distance phone bill when I used 411 to find numbers to as many sneaker stores in the United States as I could, then called them all. Eastbay sold out of my size so I guess I decided to search the entire country for them. I gave up after asking several dozen stores across the country with no luck. A few days later I settled for a gray pair from Eastbay. I’m pretty sure this was my first pair of AM’s.

I started actually collecting when I was around 18. It was my freshman year of college when I started checking out various sneaker spots and started buying up everything that I could. With a lot of excess cash from let’s just say “extracurricular activities,” I would buy anything I thought looked good. I never was into JB, Forces or Dunks, I always wore runners. I found myself buying a lot of Air Max LTD’s and 90’s between 2004 and 2006. I am now mainly interested in 1’s, 90’s, 95’s and 97’s. As Jake, Shaun, and Jeremy know, it isn’t the easiest to come across older gems at TCA prices, being a sz. 13. I’m just waiting for those 3 to offload their collections and I think I’ll be all set. Seeing that most of the recent new releases have been garbage, I am now mainly looking to gather up older pairs that I missed out on. After a bunch of camp-outs and selling over 200 different pairs, this is what I have left for runners. It’s hard
to decide, but I’d have to say my favorite pair I still own are my Crepe 90’s.

My love of AM's came from the Original AM95 Neon's. I couldn't get them back then, so
I settled for Jordan's instead. Then,when Nike retro the Neon's in 1999, I was so happy
to get them finally. That was my first pair of AM's. I beat them to death, wore them to school,parks you name it, everywhere. Even ball in them.I still have that pair. Would never throw them away.
After that pair, i started wearing Jordans most of the time. Now that I move from NY to Baltimore 4 years ago and started my own family and work here, i am back to wearing mostly AM's.
Because of TAF thread, i started to appreciate more of the AM's in general.I love the passion and dedications that all the members put into to obtain or share their passion/love with the shoes.
Most of my collection is obtain during my stay here in Baltimore, Maryland.
Having a newborn son, it's even harder to obtain shoes, so internet is my only option for now.

I've been wearing Nike sneakers since I can remember. I've been collecting them for a little over 10 years. But in terms of the Air Max series, I've only been racking them up for about 3 or 4. Most of what I had were Jordans. With JB slipping in the retro market, I wanted to expand my horizons and go beyond the J's and look for a shoe that looked good on my feet and stayed comfortable. New Air Max's were peaking the $200 mark in Canada, I didn't have deep pockets so I tried the retro AMs. My first pair of Air Max's ended up being the AM90. 3 reasons- most GRs in this line were inexpensive, readily available and they were a comfortable pair of shoes for casual wear.

Neutral, Bright Cactus, Flint Grey. This colorway was dope. At this point I was hooked. I needed more. And the more I read about them and saw them on my local shelves, the more I wanted them. And the more I wanted to explore the AM line and start branching off to different ones. Like my J's, I was on the hunt for the classic retro colorways, exclusives and new releases that collectors alike would clear shelves up for. Being in Canada, it was difficult for me to get alot of the stuff that I see in the throusands of pages in the AM thread on NT, let alone even thinking about being a part of such a group when I have very limited access. We have no Undefeateds, no NikeTowns, no FlightClubs, no little independant stores that sold the kind of stuff everyone wants. And with NikeiD restricting shipment to Canada, my only source were the online market and NikeTalk.

From my access to such websites, I've received alot of help from AM members, general NT posters and online stores to get my collection started. I thank those for all the help to get it to where it is. It isn't much, but to me, it's only the beginning and it can only keep going from here. I don't have alot of the limited releases, Tier 0s, or exclusive colorways. I can't do NT meet ups or get Nike iDs. But my interest in the AM line and my participation and contribution to NT and the Fam is growing, and hopefully keeps on growing. Alot of the Fam is close knit and I'm not sure if such a modest collection of AMs or the fact that my love for the AMs is too recent to qualify to be a part of it, but what I do have is a moderately small, but growing contribution and much respect from up north.

So here it is. My official application to Team AM Fam.

I've been wearing Air Maxes since I was in elementary school in the 90s. I would beg my parents to buy me Nikes that ONLY had air bubbles. Something about them infatuates me, I loved to squeeze the air bubbles and run around feeling the cushion that they provide. I've owned several pairs of Air Maxes, including the 2003 Air Max 95 Neons (Beat up and donated), Air Max 2003 (Wore them until the midsole separated), Several Air Max 90s (Thrown away), 3 pairs of Air Bursts (all donated). Air Max 97s (Dark Silver ones from Finish Line Exclusive, and the Trues). Since I am working now, I have been collecting air maxes as well as wearing some selected ones. I wish I could have kept all the ones I've had but never had the passion to actually collect them until a couple years ago. I wear running shoes almost everyday, and in order for me to wear them, they all MUST have an air bubble, just can't walk without them! I know own a variety of Air maxes ranging from AM1s, AM90s, AM95s, AM97s, 360s, most recently the 2009s and 24/7s. I wear most of them, but keep some to stock since I sometimes purchase doubles. I just can't stand not having a DS pair to look at somewhere down the line when my current ones become beaters :P

Okay guys, I guess its time I do this and make it official. ...and I want to start out by saying I know by all means my collection has jack on half of you guys, but like most NT's would say "I buy what I like" or more like what I can afford.

So, my name is John, I'll be 26 next month and I live in Dayton, Ohio w/ my girl and our daughter. Ive been into shoes for as long as I can remember but never really started collecting until after high school in 03 when I actually started to get money. Shoes have always been very important to me, I can remember meticulously looking for "that" shoe when my parents would buy me school shoes, of course they would never spend more than $50-75 back then but I would try on shoes until my dad would get mad and make me choose. Once I started out collecting I was wreckless buying a lot of jordans and forces, but after a few years and the internet of course I realized they just weren't my shoe. Although I still have around 50 pairs of J's I hardly ever wear them as I work full time in dress clothes and on the weekends air maxes are the only thing I'm thinking about. I have been browsing NT for almost 5 years reading the wdywt and other dumb stuff but for some reason i always looked past this thread, maybe its size was intimidating to me (I know, I know, I was missing out) but soon realized AM's were for me and this was the spot to be on NT. Nothing but love makes this thread so awesome, I love the camaraderie in here from all you guys and I only hope I get to know everyone just as good. I do know a few ppl just from randomly posting in here and visiting Daves WUW mix and its been nothing but love.I try to check in here atleast once a day I just feel weird posting recycled pics or just saying whats up w/ no real purpose but I can assure you all I'll be posting a lot more.Okay so enough blabbering I guess its time to show what I have so far, and once again fellas remember I have only been buying maxes for a little over a year since finding this thread so take it easy on me, plus having a kid makes it tough for me to buy shoes as much as I would like to, or as much as my girl will let me. Well my love for AM did not start to long ago it was actually just this year that I began to gravitate towards AM. Before that I was all about Jordans like I'm sure most here were before. That is a story for another day. I remember seeing the QS AM1 at outlets and I jumped on 2 pairs (they are no longer with me). When I got the shoe I just couldn't put it down. From that day which was only 8 months ago I made up my mind that I would concentrate on purchasing AM instead of any other sneaker. The journey began with and still continues, although my collection does not contain a great quantity I believe most of my pairs are great quality with the exception of a few. Although my favorite model has to be the AM 1 the AM 95 is not far behind I would say they are almost equal with the AM 1 holding a slight advantage. While saying this my favorite pairs are the AM 1 chili and the AM 95 slate. I appreciate the older retros as opposed to the newer versions.

I very much enjoy the AMFAM thread because there is zero bs and everyone shares the same appreciation for the shoes that I now enjoy wearing and seeing by the members of the fam. On to the collection it is at 22 pairs I am sure this is the very small compared to the collections I have seen posted on here but I hope that it is enough no doubt it will continue to grown. I wear 8.5 or 9 I can pretty much fit either or. Well here it is.

My love for Air Maxes goes way back the firat pairs I can remember having, the Air Burst.I've always been a fan of Air Maxes and beat up most of mine through the years. To me AMs are meant to be worn so never really got into the higher limited AMs til recently with my pick up of the Parras AM1. Some of my favorites through the years included emerald AM95, silver 1997s, all navy AM 2003, my two AM 90 iDs, Neon AM95, Air Burst (wht/red and grey/red/navy). I enjoy seeing people wear their AMs cuz to me that shows that they really like that pair of kicks.
Since JB has been putting out trash lately I've been focusing on getting my AM collection up to date. I've been stocking up lately on the recent releases like the wht/red and wht/royal AM1s and thanks to the TAF thread I'm hooked once again on Air Maxes. I trying to get where some of the regulars are like crisuno. I see myself wearing more AMs these days and hope to continue. My collection is growing each day thanks to fellow NTers.See you on NT!

first and foremost, congrats on reaching page 2000! if i haven't introduced myself before, then i apologize. my name is mars and im 23 from maryland . my love for air maxes began back in the 7th grade, circa 1998, when i picked up the 97s . at the time, it was the most comfortable shoe i've ever worn. i ran them to the ground, mostly duing phys ed when we had to run a lap around the school as a warm up. it was my go-to phys ed shoe . moreover, i made the switch from other brands, like reebok, adidas and la gear , to nike. since then, i've been a huge fan of the brand for three simple reasons; their entertaining marketing campaigns, their ability to attract the world's best athletes, and the quality of their footwear and apparel. although the quality has been questionable and somewhat atrocious, i still continue to support the company and buy their products. my collection began when the classic history of air series was released. i picked up the 95s and 97s. i missed out on the 87s, the 90s and all of the powerwall series unfortunately. what inspired me to continue and expand my collection was this thread alone, specifically ian's (trunks206) post of his 87s . it was all history from there. certain pairs have come and gone, but i'm truly grateful for the pairs that i still have now. each pair has been worn and gets as much love as possible. as far as contributing to this thread, it was difficult for me to make posts during those pre-yuku days because i was still finishing up with school. the fact that i didn't own a camera didn't help either . i really appreciate the fam's camaraderie, love for nike's air max product line, positive attitude, and level of maturity, thus making this thread the only one i really follow. as far as my current collection, the count is at 44 pairs, all of which are size 9, and my favorite pair are the curries. anyways, thanks for looking everyone.

I have been collecting AMs for about 2 years now and I would say my love for them has grown from just a hunt at the mall to looking for OGs across the pond. When I first started collecting I was pretty much wearing Reebok Classics all the time. Those were my shoe of choice or the classic black/white Cortez's. I was pretty much a blk/wht shoe guy and those two were the easiest and cheapest to come across pretty much. Until my boy Mike (Clips of Doom) started telling me about AMs. I didnt even really know there was a crew out there collecting sneakers and there was an interest in that. So I started out going to outlets and just picking up some random stuff here and there that I though was interesting. Prolly the first pair of AMs I bought was the glow in the dark AM 90s at an outlet for 30 bucks or something. Nothing special but when I wore them I would get all types of comments on how they looked and what they were. After that I think I bought a pair of the maroon Air Stabs when they released and from there I just kept getting into more AMs that its become an addiction that I cant stop looking for that next purchase.
So here I am now on NT and I didnt look at this thread for a while since I came to NT. There was so many pages that it was kind of intimidating! Should I start posting even though there is like 1000 pages? or whatever it was? So I started going through every page of this thread just looking at the pics and reading about releases. I didnt read all the comments but when I came across a dope pic I would just read about the release or the comment people were leavin about that particular shoe and my knowledge has grown about AMs just from this thread. So when I got through all the pages until I caught up to the end I started posting. So hopefully that gets me some cred over the cats that just pop in and start posting cause they have 10 pairs of AMs and want to be FAM.
I dont have alot of OGs or Tier Zeros or QSs but mostly general release stuff. Now that I have most of that I am on a hunt for bigger and better thing. I am starting to look for those hard to find gems and the OGs. I appreciate all the help in all this alot of the FAM has already given me in looking for stuff and help getting it from states that may be releasing it when they might not somewhere else!
